Community Plan

At the beginning of 2024 the Almeley Parish Council floated the idea of developing a Community Plan. The idea of the plan is to identify a number of priority projects that are important in the community. Projects would be either lead by the council, or by groups in the community supported by the council, and would be reviewed and updated annually. Following an open meeting in March, a working group has now come up with an initial list of projects under five themed headings as follows:

  • Business and Enterprise
    • Monthly makers market and local food stalls
    • Electric charging point(s)at the village hall
  • Children and Young People
    • Outdoor children’s play area
    • Saturday morning cinema at the village hall
  • Environment and Sustainability
    • Quarterly litter picking
    • Circular village walk, possibly accessible
  • Healthy Communities and Older People
    • Neighbourhood friends group to help with eg collection of prescriptions, library books etc
  • Safer & Stronger Communities
    • Hold first aid and paediatric first aid courses

If you would like to be involved in taking any of these projects forward, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Jon Argent j.argent@almeleyparishcouncil.gov.uk or email Mandy Howard clerk@almeleyparishcouncil.gov.uk

The community plan will be discussed at the next parish council meeting on Wednesday 20th November at 7pm in the village hall. Please do come along.
