The Almeley Pathfinders was founded in 1984 by 4 people and grew to number 34 by 1984.
Latterly it was coordinated by Peter Hall and David McAndrew, David moved away and Peter was unable to carry on. Eventually, with the onset of the Covid pandemic, self-isolation and the national lockdown, walks ceased around 2019/20.
Pathfinders was restarted along the original principles and the inaugural meeting was held on February 18th 2023.
Walks take place twice a month on Wednesdays and Sundays, the walks led by different members. We try to walk paths in Almeley Parish as much as possible, though not exclusively. Walks are generally 2 to 3 miles with an occasional longer hike, the older members may arrange a more comfortable amble with the walks and ambles often finishing at a refreshment venue.
New members are always welcome, please contact Frank McNally 07909 660160, frankryehill@gmail.com for more information.
Full details can be obtained from their website.
