(3) that on planning matters the Council will promote NDP Policies ALM1-7 and will seek to extend the force and scope of those policies through engagement with Herefordshire’s Local Plan process due for adopted in 2028/29, and in its review of the Almeley Neighbourhood Development Plan.

2025/48. Solar Panels

The consider resolving, for the avoidance of doubt, that the solar panels installed on the Village Hall roof as the result of funding in 2024-25 was expenditure permitted by section 133 of the Local Government Act 1972, and that the panels are the property of the Trustees of the Village Hall.

Section 133 reads: “A parish or community council may acquire or provide and furnish buildings to be used for public meetings and assemblies or contribute towards the expenses incurred by any other parish or community council or any other person in acquiring or providing and furnishing such a building.”

Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer at Electoral Services Office, Blueschool House, Blueschool Street, Hereford, HR1 2LX, from your Parish Clerk or they can be requested at www.herefordshire.gov.uk/forthcomingelections. The Returning Officer will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area, prepare a nomination paper for signature.

  2. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a casual vacancy is deemed to have occurred in the office of Councillor for the above Parish following the resignation of Vanessa Catherine Faulkner.

 

Rule 5 of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules 2006, provides that on a casual vacancy occurring in the office of parish councillor, an election to fill the vacancy shall be held if within fourteen days* after the date of this notice (i.e. no later than 17th June 2025.) has been given in accordance with section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, notice in writing of a request for such an election has been given to the proper officer of the council of the district within which the parish is situate by TEN electors for the parish.

 

If a request for an election is not received by the above deadline then the parish council will co-opt a person to fill the vacancy as soon as practicable in accordance with the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 1986.

 

If there is an election, it will take place not later than 60 days (excluding dies non) after the date this notice is published.
